(Napa, CA – March 10, 2010) – PlanetZ/Echelon set its sight on the stunning landscape of Napa Valley for launching its first Gran Fondo Series cycling event and fun run designed to attract both local and tourist fitness enthusiasts. The event, open to all levels and abilities of cyclists and runners, is focused on raising funds for the Queen of the Valley Cancer Center in Napa, and the Martin-O’Neil Cancer Center located on the campus of St. Helena Hospital. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds will be given to the Napa Valley Vine Trail and their important grassroots efforts to implement a multi-use trail from Calistoga to Vallejo.

“This event will not only be a lot of healthful fun for our community but the event will provide a terrific, ongoing benefit for Napa area cancer patients in the years ahead. We are encouraging our employees and community members to sign up, participate and volunteer during the event,” said Dick Green, Vice President and Chief Development Officer for Queen of the Valley Medical Center Foundation.

Executive Director of PlanetZ/Echelon Hunter Ziesing explains, “We stage events relying on a unique partnership with donors, volunteers, corporate partners and charitable recipients. Our goals are to create a uniquely fulfilling experience for our participants and a significant contribution to worthy, local programs. Everyone gives…and everyone receives.”
